Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks Unveil Bold New Uniforms

In a move that celebrates their heritage while embracing a new look, the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks have unveiled striking new uniforms, setting the stage for a fresh era in their storied histories.

Los Angeles Kings: A Nod to the Past with a Modern Twist

The Los Angeles Kings’ new uniforms reflect a sophisticated palette of black, silver, and white, drawing on elements from the team’s rich history. This redesign proudly merges the bold designs of the 1990s with the iconic crown from their inaugural year in 1967. To top it off, the Kings introduced sleek matte black helmets for their home uniforms, exuding a modern, stylish vibe.

In a promotional blitz, the Kings released a video featuring hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and the irreverent Eric Cartman from “South Park.” This daring combination of pop culture icons underscores the franchise's commitment to staying current and connected with a diverse fan base.

The uniforms themselves feature distinctive patches: a white patch on the home jerseys and a black patch on the away jerseys, adding an appealing contrast and depth to the design. Luc Robitaille, President of the Kings, highlighted the importance of honoring the team’s past while looking forward: “This evolution is rooted in our 57-year history and embraces the elements of our eras. It also involved interface and feedback with players both past and present, and it sets the stage for extensions and new iterations in the future.”

Fans won’t have to wait long to see these new uniforms in action, as the Kings plan to debut them at the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas, promising a grand premiere fitting their esteemed legacy.

Anaheim Ducks: Community-Inspired and Forward-Focused

Not to be outdone, the Anaheim Ducks have also refreshed their look, rolling out a new uniform kit that pays homage to Orange County, the community it has long symbolized. The new jerseys prominently display a refreshed logo, now serving as a secondary logo featured on the shoulder patch, which encapsulates the team’s dynamic spirit.

Key to their updated aesthetic is a new typeface and number palette inspired by the art deco styling synonymous with Orange County’s rich cultural history. This design shift incorporates shades of orange, black, gold, and white, creating a visually striking ensemble that honors the team's roots while charting a course for future success.

Susan and Henry Samueli, owners of the Ducks, expressed their vision and pride in the new design: “As our organization enters a new chapter of Anaheim Ducks hockey, we are proud to reveal our new, refreshed logo and uniform kit that identifies with the Orange County community. The Ducks are a symbol of Orange County, and our pivot to orange with an updated, iconic logo encompasses our past, present, and future.”

To generate buzz around the new uniforms, the Ducks have involved prominent athletes such as MLB superstar Mike Trout and rising baseball talent Paul Skenes, underscoring the broad appeal and high-profile endorsement of the franchise’s new direction.

Both the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks have expertly balanced tradition with innovation in their latest uniform designs. Through engaging promotional efforts and community-centric inspirations, they have not only reinvigorated their teams' images but have also set the stage for an exciting chapter in their respective histories.
